RUSK -- Celebration of Life services for Tim Harris, 56, of Jacksonville, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, Rusk, Texas with Bro. Kevin Gentry officiating.

Mr. Harris passed away Aug. 1, 2017, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 9, 1960, in Ithaca, New York, to Candace Reneau and the late Milton Harris.

He had many things that made him happy. He loved to golf and going to work.

He spent his lifetime learning through his careers, having gone from a young carpenter to being a Project Manager for building skyscrapers.

He spent the last year working for Wallace-Thompson True Value in Rusk as their Stihl technician.

He took pride in his workmanship and sharing his knowledge with his customers.

He is survived by mother and step-father Larry and Candace Reneau of Jacksonville; his wife of 12 years, Vera Harris of Jacksonville; children and their spouses, Stephanie and Josh James of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Lucas Harris of Jenks, Oklahoma, Brad and Andrea Hart of Norman, Oklahoma, Brandon Hart of Norman, Oklahoma, and Amber Featherstone of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; a sister, Kim Lloyd of Rusk, Texas; and numerous friends in Texas and South Carolina.

Visitation will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at the Rusk funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas, or to a charity of choice.
