Jacksonville - A funeral service for Shirley Lee (Cook) Houser, 80, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2021 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. A visitation will begin at 9 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Shirley passed away on September 15, 2021. She was born in Tecula, TX on September 16, 1940 to George and Fannie (Jolly) Cook. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and sewing but especially loved the holidays. She made all holidays special in every way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard C. Houser Jr.; daughter, Vickey Wright; and four brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Dale Houser and wife Cheryl of Meeker, CO, Jerry Houser of Jacksonville, Danny Houser of Buena Vista, CO and Sharon Crippen of Rusk. She is also survived by grandchildren Toby, Shawnna, Brad, Becky Jo, Clint, Travis, Morgan, Austin, Jarred, Jeremiah, Christy, Wendy, Ashley, Leigh Ann, Jamie, Randa and Tanner; numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; and a special nephew, Bubba Cook.

Pallbearers will be Henry Wright, Lane Taylor, Jarred Wright, Jeremiah Wright, Toby Houser and Tanner Crippen.
