Jack Leon Berry, 92, of the Sardis community, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Born September 28, 1926 to George and Dora (Edwards) Berry. Mr. Berry lived most of his life in the Sardis community. Jack attended grade school at the Sardis school and graduated from Rusk High School in 1944. Jack was a veteran, serving in the United States Army during World War II as part of the occupation force of Japan. Mr. Berry loved to play baseball when younger, and was a baseball fan all of his life. Jack also greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially liked to fish in the Neches River. Mr. Berry was a faithful member of Sardis Baptist Church.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 71 years, Naomi (Beasley) Berry; their daughter, Kathie (Berry) Davis and husband Wayne; their son, Danny L Berry and wife Holly; his beloved grandchildren, Kim (Davis) Lovelace and husband Dale; Stephen Berry and wife Angie Berry; Eric Berry and wife Leanna; Ellaine (Kincaid) Day and husband Gren; Shelle Kincaid; as well as his great grandchildren, Libby Berry, Jack Berry, JD Hash, Ashley Carns, Sloan Cassar, Ava Berry, and Sophia Day.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at 11 am at the Wallace Thompson Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Guess presiding. Visitation will be held before the service, at 10 am. Burial will be at Sardis Cemetery.
