Donnell "Don" Smith, 69, of Wills Point, TX passed away November 15, 2011 in a Dallas hospital. He was born November 10, 1942 to Robert Walker Smith and Mary Jo Hamby Smith in Jacksonville, TX. Don, also known as "PaPa" was a gentle, loving man with a soft spot for children. He loved spending time cooking with his grandchildren and, according to them, made the best cornbread ever. Don was an avid reader, never being without a book from his vast collection. His smile could light up a room and his laugh could raise the lowest of spirits. Don was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert Walker "Bubba" Smith. Those left to celebrate his life are wife, Faye Smith, daughter Teressa Mills and husband Clint and son Steven Smith and wife Rebecca. He will also be remembered dearly by his grandchildren Jerry Waldroup, Paul Cohee, Kristin Bealls, Steven Lynn Smith Jr., Shanna, Amber and Misty Smith, Taylor and Gracie Smith, and Cassie and Haley Vines. Don is also survived by sisters Shelba Yancy, Sherry Keyser and Johna Fuller and brothers Jackie and Dale Smith. Funeral services were held Monday, November 21 at Anderson-Clayton Bros.
