Funeral service for Betty Sue Garner-Evans, age 75, of Rusk is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Evans passed away June 26, 2018 in a Tyler hospital. She was born January 13, 1943 in Rusk, TX to the late Jim Wesley and Iva Mae Beard Garner. Ms. Evans was a lifelong resident of Rusk and worked at area nursing homes as well as Access as a personal care giver. She was a giving person always willing to help in need and worked hard and took great pride in life providing for her family she cherished dearly. She loved her two dogs and spending time with her family. She was the sunshine in all of our lives and will truly be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Blanche Roycroft and Hilda Patterson, husband, Billy Evans. She is survived by her son, Jim Woodard of Alto, daughter, Brenda Woodard of Rusk, longtime family friends, Joe Helm and Dorothy Hutto of Alto, Audrey Miller of New York, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will include Joe Helm, Todd Munsinger, John Roycroft, Roy Rowell, Cody Durham and Jonathan Woodard. Blake Martin will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
