Sally Klotz Stone, 89, was born in Mexia, Texas, to Ayree and John Frederick Klotz.
She grew up in Henderson Texas, graduating from Henderson High School in 1944 as valedictorian of her class. She attended University of Texas, was a member of the Alpha Lampda Delta Honor Society, and graduated in 1948 with a BBA degree.
Later, she graduated from San Marcos State with a paralegal degree. Sally married Emerson Stone Jr. (Em) in 1948. The Stones spent their married life in Jacksonville where Em practiced law with his father and brother.
The Stones were active members of the First Methodist Church, and Sally taught Sunday School there. Sally was a substitute teacher at Jacksonville High School, served as the Cherokee County March of Dimes Chairman, volunteered at Love's Lookout, and founded the Roller Coaster Investment Club.
Sally was known for her wit and outgoing personality. She loved her family and friends and they loved her as well. Sally and Em were married for 44 years. After Emerson died, Sally married Burns Tilton. Sally enjoyed her beloved dogs, Beauregard and Samson. Sally was predeceased by her parents, an infant son, husband William Emerson Stone Jr., and husband, Burns Tilton.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Stone of Mendham, NJ; her son, William E. Stone and wife Christina of Bellaire, TX; daughter Susan Jane Stone of Glendale, CA; her sisters, Diana Klotz Buckner and husband, Bob, and daughter, Brenda; and Ayree Klotz Stokes and husband, Ralph.
Sally is survived by three grandchild-ren: Emerson Stone IV, Zoe Secrest and Emerson Secrest.
Memorials may be made to Houston Hospice or to Jacksonville's First United Methodist Church. Services will be held on July 14, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Texas at 10:30 a.m.
