Pauline Jones Blanton was born in Troup, Texas on August 5, 1932. She left us peacefully and entered Heaven's gates on June 6, 2016.
A loving mother and homemaker, Pauline was an excellent seamstress as a young mother and sewed all of the clothes and beautiful Easter and Christmas frocks for her two young daughters. She played basketball in High School and over the years became an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching pro-basketball but her true love was football and her favorite team was the Houston Texans.
She was a great talker and sender of cards on all occasions, and last but not least she was a staunch Republican and very proud of it.
Pauline had an unwavering faith in God. She was a tremendous "prayer warrior" and prayed for each of her children and their family by name daily. Her tattered Bible is a testament to the daily reading of her Heavenly Father's word.
Pauline was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Minor L. Blanton. She was also predeceased by her brother J D Jones.
Pauline is survived by her daughters, Paula Brown and her husband Joel, Diana Nichols and her husband Johnny and son Russell Blanton. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberly Jamison, Ryan Marshall, Christopher Taylor, and Spencer Nichols. She had three great grandchildren, Colten Marshall, Cyron Marshall and Ani Gail Marshall.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Texas. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at The Holiday Inn Express, at 1923 Jackson Street coinciding from 6 to 8 p.m. June 9, 2016. A private graveside service will be held Friday.
Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8
