A funeral service for Lanette Thomas, age 76, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Friday, April 21, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. David Smith, Rev. James Dorman and Rev. Fred Morrow will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Tecula Cemetery near Jacksonville.
Mrs. Thomas passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Jacksonville.
Lanette was born October 20, 1940 in Mineola, Texas to Elbert and Ima (Sullivan) Mize.
She retired as a secretary from Jacksonville Insurance Company and Tommy Lee Insurance of Jacksonville. She was a member of Craft Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Glenn Thomas; a brother, Bill Mize and sister, Joyce Mize.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Junior Clyde "J.C." Thomas of Jacksonville; sons, Troy Thomas of Bentonville, Arkansas, Darell Thomas and wife Sherry of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law, Linda Thomas of Jacksonville; brother, Freddy Mize and wife Cindy of Conroe; sister-in-law, Colleen Mize of Lindale. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brad Thomas and wife Mandy, Dalton Thomas, Crystal Franklin; great-grandchildren, Avery Thomas and Grady Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Weldon Lightsey, Scott Alexander, Chad Galyean, Darell Thomas, Brad Thomas and Dalton Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be David Mize, Ebbie Burnitt, Paul Galyean, Gordon Hendrickson and Freddy Mize.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 20, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Lanette's family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
