Funeral services for Joyce Plunk, age 77, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon Friday, December 18, 2015, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Chaplain Eddy Secrest officiating. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Mrs. Plunk passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in Jacksonville. She was born November 2, 1938, in Ft. Mead, Florida, to Joseph and Margaret Cox Green. Joyce was co-founder of Cherokee County Crisis Center. She worked for Jacksonville Daily Progress, a substitute teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of the church of God, International. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Sonny Plunk of Jacksonville; son, L.D. Plunk and wife Shari of Carrolton; daughter, Marsha Plunk of Longview; grandchildren, Kameron Moore, Karyn’Ann Atkins, Shay Dortch, and Chace Plunk; great-grandchildren, Kara, Kamden, and Kamryn Leigh; and one niece and nephew. Pallbearers will be Paul Laney, Michael Hines, Kameron Moore, Chace Plunk, Mike Mason, and Tony McLeroy. Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 17, 2015 , and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8’oclock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
