Joe's Story

Graveside services for Joe Everett Miles, age 82, of Jacksonville will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Pastor Brandon Miles and Jimmy Dunklin officiating.
Joe Everett Miles was born March 15, 1933, in Jacksonville to Bennie and Florence Irene George Miles. He had worked in dry wall construction and for the T.D.C. Joe was a very loving person who never met a stranger. He loved playing the guitar and banjo, loved to sing, cook and have people over and especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. 
He served as a corporal in the U. S. Army from 1953 until 1956 and was a member of the Pierce's Chapel Assembly of God Church. He maintained his wonderful positive attitude all through his life and especially through his final illness
He dearly loved his caregivers, Debbie and Lisa. He joined his Savior on the morning of March 9, 2016. 
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Merle Jean Jenkins Miles, brothers, Earl, Hubert, Newburn, Dick and Bennis and his sister, Merle Traylor.
Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joe Paul and Debbie Miles of Jacksonville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Jean and Mike Pope of Jacksonville and Rhonda and Jimmy Dunklin of Troup, a sister, Charlene Marnell of Jacksonville,  a brother and sister-in-law, Sherril and Joyce Miles of Jacksonville, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nephews and nieces.  He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Drew Clark, Jr., Caleb Dunklin, Dustin Tipton, Cody Wallis, Johnny Markasky, Josh Crescenzi, and Shane Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Thompson, Palmer Thompson, Tripp Thompson, Avery Wallis, Asher Wallis and August Wallis.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
