A funeral service for Bonnie Dickson, age 87, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. David Moore will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Providence Cemetery.
Mrs. Dickson passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Jacksonville.
Bonnie was born April 25, 1930 in Jacksonville to Jewel and Mary Penny Chandler.
She was a Charter member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Jacksonville. During her working career, Bonnie was employed by Safeway Grocery Co. in Jacksonville for 32 years. After her tenure at Safeway, she worked for 10 years at Discount City in Jacksonville.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, William "Willie" Dickson; her parents; her brothers, Junior, Jerry and Lee Mack Chandler; and sister in-law, Kay Chandler.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jimmy Dickson and wife Cathe of Jacksonville and Carol McLeod and husband Mike of Nacogdoches; her brother, George Chandler of Jacksonville; sister, Lois Murray and husband Tony of Jacksonville; brothers-in-law, Harrol Dickson and wife Ann of Teague, Bill Allen of Marshall; sisters-in-law, Brenda Chandler of Nacogdoches and Ruth Taylor of Jacksonville. Special neighbors include Jeri and Charles Broadway and Erma Carpenter, all of Jacksonville. Bonnie has four grandchildren, Amy Crispin and husband Joel, Brent Dickson and wife Hallie, Hollie Teater and husband Randal and Courtney McLeod. Her great-grandchildren include Emma Crispin, Owen Crispin, Alton Teater, and Rose Teater; and she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brent Dickson, Joel Crispin, Randal Teater, Randy Hurst, Lance Philbrick and George Chandler. Honorary pallbearers are members of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday. You are invited to visit with Bonnie's family on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
