Bobby's Story

A funeral service for Bobby Wellborn, age 84, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Friday, September 23, 2016 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Dale Jamerson and Rev. Enid Shephard officiating. He will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery in Gallatin.
Mr. Wellborn passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 in Jacksonville.
Bobby was born March 14, 1932 in Winnfield, LA to Monta and Lula Mae (Hollingshead) Wellborn.
He was a reserve peace officer for Cherokee County Sheriff's Department and a member of Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department. Bobby retired for Trane Corporation as a welder. He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church in Jacksonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sue Wellborn; brothers-in-law, George Pinkerton and Truman Wyatt.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Edith Pinkerton, Montalba, Texas, Laura Wyatt, Jacksonville, Texas, Mattie and husband Tommy Beddingfield, Montalba, Texas; sister-in-law, Cynthia Wellborn, Longview, Texas; nieces and nephews, Judy and husband Dale Acker, Tyler, Texas, Linda and husband Jimmy Mount, Alabama, Gary and wife Karman Wellborn, Longview, Texas, Tracy Pinkerton and friend Terri, Montalba, Texas, Barbara and husband Johnny Cox, Montalba, Texas, Diana and husband John Schraub, San Antonio, Texas, Cindi and husband Bob Ferguson, Pearland, Texas, Randy and wife Bridgett Beddingfield, Wyle, Texas, Duane and wife Amy Beddingfield, Flint, Texas. There are 24 great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by cousins, Darrell Campbell, Velma Ritchey, and Sarah Hollingshead.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2016 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Pallbearers will be Gary Wellborn, Tracy Pinkerton, Randy Beddingfield, Duane Beddingfield, Dale Acker, Darrel Campbell and honorary pallbearers, Johnny Cox, Jimmy Dishman and James Kyle.
The family wishes to express special appreciation to the caring staff at Senior Care of Jacksonville.
Rather than customary condolences, memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 2020 Beaumont St., Jacksonville, Texas 75766.
