Graveside services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2 p.m., at the Mays Cemetery in New Salem with Bro. Chris Proctor officiating. Services under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Miss Swink was born to Jim and Mollie Buckner Swink on April 27, 1921, in New Salem. She had worked as a nurse for Nan Travis Hospital for forty-two years before her retirement. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at a Jacksonville nursing home.
Zelma Swink was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joe, Roy, J.W., and Frank, and sisters, Virgie, Inez, Kate and Lorene.
Survivors include nephews, Roy Swink of New Salem, Ronnie Swink and wife Janece of Lake Tyler, nieces, Lynda Attaway and husband, David of Jacksonville, Gayle Defoor of Rusk, Judy Cochran, Molice Jones, Sandra Swink and Kathy Matthys, all of New Salem, Dianne Everitt and husband, Buddy of Henderson and Donna Freeman of Palestine, TX.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mays Cemetery Association c/o of Joan Smith, 1100 E. Main St., Henderson, TX 75652.
