Funeral services for Viola Marie Tipton, age 92, of Jacksonville, TX will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home chapel in Jacksonville with Bro. Donald Gelles and Bro Clay Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, TX.
Marie Tipton was born in Ponta, TX and had resided in New Summerfield most of her adult life. She was a former member of the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the New Summerfield Church of Christ. She had worked at many things during her life including being a seamstress and farming which included driving a truck loaded with plants to the Dallas Farmers Market.
Marie passed from this earth suddenly on February 8, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. B. and Nena Murray, her husband, W. R. Tipton, a son, Waylon Tipton, three sisters, a brother and two great granddaughters, Brittany Tipton and Heather Bland.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Linda Johnson of Jacksonville, nine grandchildren, Kenneth, Stuart, Waylon, Jr., Cherry, Michelle, Kim, Glenn, Candace and Nacole, nineteen great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many family friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation was Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville, Texas.
