A graveside service for Ruby Dudley, age 94, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Tecula Cemetery in the near Jacksonville. Marion Gion will officiate. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Mrs. Dudley passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Jacksonville. She was born August 28, 1922 in Troup to Felix Dana and Grace (Childs) Thompson.
Ruby's family came from Mississippi to Texas and became a founding family of Troup. She graduated from Troup High School in 1940. Mrs. Dudley enjoyed a career in retail sales, having been employed as a sales clerk for Kress Dept. Store in Las Vegas. She attended Taylor's Chapel Church.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest Dudley; brother Dana Thompson; and sisters Eula Mae Stewart and Mildred Jordan.
Left to cherish her memory is her nephew Rex and wife Carolyn Dudley of Rusk; twin sister Ruth Jay of Jacksonville; and several other nieces and nephews.
A visitation will begin Monday and will continue until 7:00 o'clock in the evening June 5, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
