Funeral services for Rosa Mae Anderson, age 92, of Jacksonville, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Morris and Rev. Lee Ray Best officiating. Burial will follow at the Henry Cemetery in Gallatin, TX.
Rosa was born March 29, 1924, in Slocum, TX, to Robert Wesley and Allie Mae Sims Thomas.
She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was a very strong loving wife, mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family and her Lord.
She went to be with her Lord on March 29, 2016 while living at a local Jacksonville nursing home.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Jacksonville Health Care employees, Heart to Heart Hospice employees, Jennifer, Chasity, Beverly and Chaplains Eddy and Ken.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larkin Leon Anderson, a son, Douglas Larkin Anderson, two brothers, Roy W. Thomas and Milton Henry Thomas, a sister, Ruby Pearl Smith and two grandsons, Mitchell Lewis Menard and T. J. Anderson.
Rosa is survived by four sons and their spouses, Ronald Edward and Mona Anderson of Jacksonville, Robert Henry Anderson of Jacksonville, Bruce Kelly Anderson of Jacksonville and James Leon Anderson of Rusk; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Ann and Kerry Smith of Mount Pleasant and Linda Joyce Menard of Jacksonville, a sister-in-law, Eloise Thomas of Jacksonville; four grandchildren and their spouses, Tony Leon Anderson, Kilvin and Karen Carrier, Frank Barron and LeeAnn Anderson and Michael Christopher Menard; five great-grandchildren, Mickyla Anderson, Lucas Darr, Griffin Anderson, Jenna Rose Anderson and Colton Anderson; and a very special friend, Dorothy Harris.
Pallbearers will be Tony Anderson, Frank Anderson, Michael Menard, Colton Anderson, Lucas Darr, Larry Sinclair and James Campbell.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home, 750 S. Jackson St., Jacksonville, TX 75766.
