Mass of Christian Burial for Roman Rangel, of New Summerfield, 38, is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville, with Father Patrick Hartnett officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Roman was born July 10, 1977, in Mexico to Aaron Rangel and Dominga Mejia and passed away in Rusk County, Texas. on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015. He was an avid soccer player, a member of Our Lady of Sorrow Church, and a member of La Daza Guadalup-ana. Roman was a hardworking man but always found time to spend with family and friends. He never met a stranger and his kindness was well known. He was devoted and loving husband, father, and son. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and the love of his life, Mary Rangel of New Summerfield; sons, Ruben R. of Jacksonville, Carlos R., Roman Jared Rangel and Logan Jesus Rangel, all of New Summerfield; daughter, Sara Meltiza Rangel of New Summerfield; parents; brother, Fransisco Rangel of Mexico; sisters, Irene Moreira and husband Estanislao of Jacksonville and Sara Rangel Mejia of Mexico. He is also survived by many other family members, including numerous nieces, nephews, “primos” and friends, and will be missed by all. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville.
