Robert "Bob" Williams, 78, of Jacksonville, TX passed away Friday November 13, 2015. There will be a visitation Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Boren Conner Funeral Home. Followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday November 18, 2015 where he will be laid to rest in Resthaven Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi “Granny” Guillott. Bob is survived by his wife of many years Mary Jane “Janie” Williams; Daughter Robin Brown and husband Marshall, and Sons David Williams and Dana Williams; Grandchildren: Shannon Robinson and husband Ben, Lindsey Ebrahimi and husband Shawn, Carson Williams and wife Megan, Jayna Williams, Julie Williams, Tera Collins, and Doug Laney; Great grandchildren: Whitney, Brady and Nicole Robinson, Jude and Oliver Staton and Harper Ebrahimi (due in January). Jude and Oliver were his special “Buddies”; spending all their time learning from “Papaw”. Also Sisters and Brothers in law Sonja and Jack Brewer, Trilla and Estel Cook, Reva and Don McMillen, Sisters in law Cletis Calhoun and Delma Rainwater; and Brothers in law Billy J. Cook, Selby Cook, and Herbert Cook. Brother Rev. Ronald Williams and wife Bonnie; Step brothers Charles Williams and Step sisters Betty Johnson and husband Jim and Marion Stewart. Bob was born May 23, 1937 in Clintwood, Virginia. He was a Baptist. Bob and Janie moved to Texas in 1972. He started 4 Star paint company and worked as a Painter for many years. He then opened Country Auto where he sold and worked on cars. Later he began dirt track racing and quickly fell in love with the sport, it became his passion. This led to the opening of Qwik Race Cars. Bob loved the atmosphere of the race track and the people there were considered part of his family. Pallbearers for Bob will be David Williams, Ben Robinson, Carson Williams, Marshall Brown, Shawn Ebrahimi, and Doug Laney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Race Car drivers for Country Auto and the Qwik Racing Teams also Jude and Oliver Staton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 7925 S. Broadway Ave. Suite 1140 Tyler, Tx 75703, or any children’s ministries because Bob loved all the children so dearly.
