Funeral services for Robert R. (Bob) Wick, age 83, of Reklaw, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Bennett and Rev. Jerry Walles officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Wick passed away March 12, 2016 in a Tyler hospital. He was born November 20, 1932, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to the late Walter and Myrtle Hughes Wick. Mr. Wick was a resident of Reklaw since 1971 and a member and deacon at Reklaw Baptist Church.
He served two terms on the Reklaw City Council, served as a director of the Reklaw Fire Department, and was retired from TDCJ after 21 years of service. Mr. Wick served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Wick; and son-in-law, Mickey Valentine.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Wick of Reklaw, two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Charlie Brown of Chiloquin, Oregon, and Joy L. and Harold Tucker of Rusk; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Becky Wick of Canyon Lake, Texas; six grandchildren, Melea Lenard of Rusk, Ian Madsen of Chiloquin, Shanna Wick of Rusk, Adam Wick of Rusk, Stephanie Sessions of Jacksonville, Jennifer Stevens of Corpus Christi; 13 great-grandchildren; and other extended family.
Pallbearers will include Steve Tugwell, Richard Martin, Francisco Hernandez, Ronnie Risinger, David Moore and Jerry Leviston. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Tappan, Ernest Hudnall and Woodrow Turner.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at the funeral home.
