A funeral service for Rev. Phillip Warren, age 75, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 3:30 in the afternoon Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Dr. Bruce Webb officiating. He will be laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.
Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville.
Mr. Warren passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Jacksonville.
He was born June 25, 1940, in Jacksonville to William and Virginia (Moody) Warren.
Phillip worked in construction and in the oil field industry prior to ministry. He was Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Houston, Friendship Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was also Associate Pastor at Afton Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Interim Pastor at New Hope Baptist Church. Not only was he a minister to several nursing homes, he was very active with Twin Oaks and Senior Care.
Rev. Phillip was a member of Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Scott Warren; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Pendleton.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda Wright Warren of Jacksonville; son, Joel Warren and wife Brittany of Castroville; daughter, Angie Warren of League City; and granddaughter, Abigail Warren. He is also survived by his sisters, Grace Roland Hebert of Co; Kathy Lankford of Jacksonville and several nieces and nephews; other children, Philip Warren Jr. and his son Nathan, Debra Sipes and her daughter Kevan; Linda's family, Lucy Fought, Floyd and Orell Wright, Bobby Wright, Don and Helen Wright, Trish and Johnnie Helm, Paula and James Rozell, Joe Pendleton and their children.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, May 21, 2016, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
