Paul O'dell Glass left his earthly home on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 91 years old. Paul was born September 21, 1925 in Cherokee County to John and Eunice Glass. He resided in Dialville and Jacksonville, Texas all his life.
He graduated from Dialville High School and then went on to serive in the U.S. Army during WWII. After returning home, he married Margaret Lightsey on February 2, 1947 and they were married for 67 years. Paul was owner and operator of Paul Glass Service Station and Tire Recapping in Jacksonville. He was also co-owner of the J Shop Men's Store. Paul served on the Jacksonville School Board for 10 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville and the Alpha-Omega Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Lightsey) Glass brothers and sisters, Webster Glass, Everett Glass, Moody Glass, Hassie Gresham, Beulah Creekmur, Herman Glass, Ernest Glass, Hubert Glass, Orland Glass, Dan Glass, Becky Mayfield, JM Glass, and Jimmy Glass.
Paul is survived by his three children: son, Paul Steven Glass and wife Rebecca of Jacksonville; daughters, Belinda (Glass) Cook of Tyler, Myra (Glass) White and husband Paul of Tyler; six grandchildren, Lindsey Icenogle and husband Michael, Christopher Glass, Penni Weeks and husband Dustin, Bryan Glass, Sarah Traylor and husband Lee, and Beth Meisner and husband Steven; five great-grandchildren, James, Abraham, and Samuel Traylor, Ellie and Emma Grace Icenogle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his loving caregivers Lillie Harmon, Alice Medford and Edwin Redic.
Funeral services for Paul Glass will be Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Visitation will precede the service at 2:00 p.m.
