A funeral service for Patti Sue Cook, age 83, of Lufkin, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Pastor Shane Barnes and Rev. Jack Moore officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Lufkin surrounded by her loving family.
Patti Sue was born November 27, 1934 in Jacksonville. She married her childhood sweetheart, who was the love of her life and adored her for 64 years.
She was a member of Piney Woods Pivot Church in Lufkin.
Patti was a shining example of a Christian, who was obedient and served the Lord with all her heart. She was an exceptional wife, sister, mother and grandmother to her whole family.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Enoch and Wydette Herrington; brothers, Richard and Enoch Herrington; and a sister, Ann Green.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Kenneth Cook of Lufkin; daughter, Debbie Wilson of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Pat Cook of Cypress; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Steve Spradlin of Canton, Betty and Jack Moore of OK, and Mary Jane and Bill Dyess of Jacksonville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Amy Smith and husband Curtis of Bullard, Carrie Schoenvogel and husband Jason of Burton, Becky Barrett and husband Jeffrey of Lufkin, Candace Tarnowski and husband Kevin of Cypress, Patti Johnson and husband Cory of Lufkin, Kenny Cook and wife Cassandra of San Antonio, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Smith, Jeffrey Barrett, Cory Johnson, Kevin Tarnowski, Jason Schoenvogel and Kenny Cook, III.
