Graveside services for Mildred Inez Grantham, age 99, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Corine Cemetery with Bro. David Hallum officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Mrs. Grantham passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Jacksonville. She was born May 27, 1916 in the city of Gary, Panola County, Texas to Thomas T. and Mary Elizabeth Moseley. Mildred was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in the Corine, Texas. She lived at Travis Towers in Jacksonville for 24 years. She made you laugh, was a great story teller and loved by the many friends she had. She enjoyed reading cookbooks, doing puzzle books, and she loved to garden and helped to plant one of the biggest trees at Travis Towers. She worked at Nichols-Kusan in the 1940’s -1950’s. She and her husband raised and sold cactus plants at a greenhouse they owned for many years in Ironton, Texas. After retirement, she and her husband traveled for several years in a travel trailer before settling in Craft, Texas. She moved to Travis Towers after he died in 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, A. L. Grantham; sons, Albert Wayne Grantham, Larry Grantham and Jack Grantham; four sisters, Thelma Hassell, Juanita Barnes, Nellie Pugh and Lessie Smith and a grandson, Dustin Ainsworth. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth Grantham and Tex Dee Grantham, both of Jacksonville; brother, Clifford Moseley and wife Melba of Jacksonville; sister, Rosalie Shelton of Washington State; five grandchildren, Tex Dee II Grantham and wife Kamie, Kimberly Grantham, Pamela Ainsworth, Dee Ann Grantham, and Laura Kay Farnham and husband Tommy; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
