A graveside service for Maxie Buckley, age 95, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Saturday, September 2, 2017 at West Shady Grove Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Rev. Vernon Brown will officiate.
Maxie passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Jacksonville.
She was born January 17, 1922 in Lufkin to William and Sarah Dunn Anderson.
Maxie was a member of Pierce's Chapel Assembly of God and was a homemaker. She loved taking care of her yard and home which she did until recently. Maxie was a very independent lady who also raised a wonderful garden every year.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Archie, a daughter; Joyce Tillman also by six brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Larry Buckley and wife Karen of Whitehouse, Wayne Buckley and wife Marilyn of Jacksonville; a daughter, Jo Ann Bonner of Las Vegas, NV. She is survived by six grandchildren Scott Tillman, Tina McKnight, Teresa Green, Terry Buckley, Jessie Bonner, and Jade Buckley; six special grandchildren Kenlie Morgan, Nick Morgan, Jake Morgan, John Bingham, Kara Milligan, Murphy Milligan and Jennifer Humphries. There are seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
You may come by and sign the guest register and view until 7 o'clock in the evening on Friday September 1, 2017. There will be a brief visitation with Maxie's family from 8:30 am until 9:30 am on Saturday at Autry Funeral Home prior to the service at 10 am.
