A funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Patton, age 84, of Henderson, is scheduled for Thursday Aug. 3, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Joshua Patton and Rev. Linney Patton officiating. She will be laid to rest at Old Zion Cemetery in Kennard, Texas.
Mrs. Patton passed away July 28, 2017, in Palestine, Texas.
Mary was born December 24, 1932 in a log cabin located near Rusk, Texas to Noah and Lola Bradley Thompson.
Mary was a seamstress and owned a tailoring and upholstery shop on Main Street in Henderson Texas for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Patton; daughter, Clara Goss; three grandchildren, Miranda Goss, Johnny Suggs, Jr. and Brenda Carr; daughter-in-law, Jackie Patton; and sons-in-law, Johnny Goss and Steve Bass.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; daughter, Carol Bass of Bullard; sons, Jimmy Patton and wife Linda of Henderson, Linney Patton and wife Tammy of Palestine; sister, Nancy Vance of Clute; and brother, N.C. Thompson and wife Joyce of Victoria. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Sandra Andrews, Dwayne Spangler, Dicky Spangler, DeAnna Bass, Jesse Bass, Deleena Black, Travis Goss, Shelly Goss, Jennifer Patton, Cindy Alt, Whitney Patton-Ray, Joshua Patton, Zechariah Patton; 42 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandson, Dwayne Spangler, Dwayne Spangler, Jr., Dicky Spangler, Jesse Bass, Justin Hightower, Travis Goss and Zechairah Patton.
Viewing will begin Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6-8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
