Mary Ann Bennett

Mary Ann (Mollie) Bennett, age 77, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away Monday, June 24th, 2019 in Jacksonville. She was born November 5, 1941 in Peoria, Illinois.

Mollie was a graduate from Peoria High School in 1959. She received her Associates Degree in 1975 from El Camino College in Torrance, California, then obtained her California Nursing License in 1976. It was a great honor for Mollie to assist with the nursing program at Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, California. She retired from her final nursing home position as supervisor in 2008. It was her special joy to care for those in need.

Following her high school graduation, she went to Hawaii with her sister Suzi, where she met her first husband Ben. She previously resided in California, Oklahoma, and New York, where she co-owned a stained glass business with her best friend Kathy Iden before settling down in Texas. In her early years, she enjoyed oil painting and was an active guitar player/singer. In later years, Mollie enjoyed painting ceramics at Central Baptist Church, as well as playing card games with friends. She had an avid love for animals. In her quiet time, Mollie was an active prayer warrior, and enjoyed viewing photographs of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Despite life's difficulties, setbacks and heartaches, Mollie finally found true love, comfort and peace when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and started her personal relationship with Him. We take comfort in knowing she is spending eternity with God Almighty based on her faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for her salvation (John 3:16 and John 14:6).

Mollie grieved the preceding deaths of her son, Michael Patrick Bennett; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Jameson; brothers, Steve and John; and her dear friend, Kathy Iden.

Survivors left to cherish her memories include her son, Daniel Bennett and wife Michele of Jacksonville; daughter, Amy Pangle and husband Jim of Ridgecrest California; son, Sean Sherburne of Germany; sister, Suzi Harpe and husband Dick of Colorado; brother, Chris and wife Linda of Portland Maine; brother, Joe of Portland Oregon; sister, Jean Bergman and husband Bill of Payson Arizona; and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
