Funeral service for Marvin (Bobby) Woods, age 81, of Jacksonville is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Bobby passed away on Christmas Day of congestive heart failure while he was in the ER of Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Bobby and his loving wife, Gay Nell were married in 1959. Their life was one of travel during Bobby’s 20 year air force career. Bobby enjoyed traveling, bowling, hunting, playing 42, having family gatherings and watching the Dallas Cowboys – win or lose. After retiring from the Air Force in 1972, Bobby and Gay Nell began buying and renovating houses. They moved to Jacksonville to be close to family and friends in 1974. Family was important to Bobby. He enjoyed hunting with his family and friends. His grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed spending time with their Papa. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Bobby is an active member of Dialville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Gay Nell, daughter, Wanda Collins and husband Robert of Conroe, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother, Gene Woods, and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
