Martain's Story

Celebration of Life services for Martain Keith Croft will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville followed by graveside services in West Shady Grove Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Pastor Vernon Lee of First Baptist Church and Harold Barnette, brother-in-law, of Cape Fair, Missouri.
Visitation will begin on Friday, August 26, 2016 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Keith was born February 5, 1948 to Anne Earnestine (Stone) Croft and Millard Martain Croft in Palo Alto, California. He entered into his eternal home August 24, 2016 surrounded by family and friends.
Keith was predeceased by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Neatha Croft of Jacksonville; his step-daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Kelvin Fox of Whitehouse; and granddaughters, Megan Fox and Meredith Fox of Whitehouse. He is also survived by a brother, Stoney Croft and wife Cheryl of Austin, a sister, Sandra Croft Gray and husband John of Jacksonville; also many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.
Keith was an educator for 44 years. He taught at Palestine High School from 1972-1975. He taught at Jacksonville High School from 1975-1998. He then served as PEIMS coordinator for JISD until his retirement August 2015.
Keith has been a faithful member for 35 years at First Baptist Church where he taught the Single Adult Sunday school class for several years. Most importantly he lived his life as a dedicated follower of Christ. He was also a member of the Jacksonville College Jag Club and an avid fan of the basketball teams.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Croft, Kevin Croft, Aaron Sommerfeld, Buddy Attaway, John Gray and Jack Williams.
Rather than customary condolences, the family has suggested that memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Renovation Fund 210 Philip St. Jacksonville, Texas 75766, Jacksonville College Athletic Department 105 BJ Albritton Dr. Jacksonville, Texas 75766, or a church or charity of donors choice.
