Luther Aaron Jackson, 78, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2016. He was born on July 30, 1937, in McCool, Mississippi, to Bon Henry and Reba Clifton Jackson. He was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, class of 1955. He also was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served from 1955-1959. Luther worked as a General Contractor in road construction. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eunice Euphemia Story Jackson; daughter Nancy Ousley of Jacksonville, Texas; son Mark Jackson and wife Julia of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Charlotte Hill and husband John of Murphy, North Carolina; and daughter Donna Amland of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren Aaron Ousley, Sarah Ousley, Julie Jackson Sewell and husband Ben, Will Jackson, Austin Amland, and Carter Amland; and step-grandson, Luke Duigon. Luther is also survived by his beloved aunt, Mary Lou Clifton Burnett of Sacul, Texas; sisters, Bonnie Linda and L.H. Crockett of Jacksonville, Texas; Lisa Baldwin of River Oaks, Texas, Debbie Jackson of Jacksonville, Texas; brothers, Bob Jackson and wife Laura of Tyler, Texas; and Bon Clifton Jackson and wife Denise of Jacksonville, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Central Baptist Church, 1909 East Rusk Street, in Jacksonville, Texas. Contributions may be made to HOPE, 595 S. Ragsdale, Jacksonville, Texas 75766, or a charity of your choice.
