Funeral services for Louise D. Magruder, age 92, of Rusk, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Magruder passed away November 28, 2016 in a Henderson nursing home. She was born March 23, 1924 in Atoy, TX to the late James William and Cleavie Pool Dickson. Ms. Magruder was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County and a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. She loved quilting, anything outdoors, gardening, flowers, family and was a super homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, of 64 years, Herbert Magruder, second husband, Roy Kennedy, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Diann and Bob Dodson of Sugar Tree, TN, Judy and Jim Mayo of Henderson, TX, three grandchildren, Cindy Raney and Mark Dodson both of Memphis, TN, Jason Mayo of Lufkin, TX, six great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Berniece Magruder of Rusk, Bonnie Magruder of Alto, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Mark Dodson, Jason Mayo, Hunter Mayo, James Campbell, Harold Dement, Jamie Magruder, Jerry Mayo and Tommy Monroe. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
