A funeral service for Linda Lee McIntyre, age 73, of Rusk, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Jordan Grindle, Rev. James Littlefield and Rev. Mike Littlefield officiating. She will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Rusk.
Linda passed away peaceful in the arms of God Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Tyler.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother J.T. and Hattie Mae Bailey and a son, David McIntyre.
Linda was a mail carrier for the City of Reklaw for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dennis McIntyre Sr. of Rusk; sister and brother in-law, Betty and Rev. James Littlefield of Alto; brother and sister in-law, Leonard and Mary Baldwin of Tyler; sister in-law Eletha McIntyre of Dialville; three sons and daughters in-law, Dennis (Denny) and Ronda McIntyre, Ricky and Christina McIntyre, and Tim and Michelle McIntyre, all of Rusk. She was known as Nanny to 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of niece and nephews.
"I Fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is a laid up for me a crown of righteousness."
Her sons have been shown God's favor by allowing them the privilege to call her mom. She loved her family and others with an unconditional love, thought of others before herself and most of all served God faithfully. Leaving behind legacy that will be treasured for many generations to come. She will be missed tremendously by those who have had the privilege of knowing her.
Pallbearers are Ricky McIntyre, Jr., Chazdon McIntyre, Christopher McIntyre, David Clay McIntyre, Nicholas McIntyre, Brandon McIntyre, Jerry McIntyre, Jojo McIntyre, Tommy Nolley, Keith Norton, Steven Norton, David Trawick, Sr., James Leavins, Jr. Cervantes and Ricardo Gress.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 16, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the McIntyre family from 4 to 6 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
