Larry  Herr


Larry Herr, Sr., 76, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in Hockley, Texas. He
was born February 18, 1943 to Harold and Magdalena (Hinkle) Herr.
Mr. Herr began his career working at many of the local plant farms as a driver, grower and eventually a manager. He worked for many years with Powell's Plant Farm (Color Spot) in New Summerfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Herr; daughter, Teresa Moore; and granddaughters, Tiffany Dawn Fort and Jordan Denyse Herr.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Larry Herr, Jr and wife Cari of Hockley; daughter, Michelle Dawn Corley and husband Lynn of Crane; sister, Linda George and husband Dennis and brother, Steven Herr, all of Oregon. Grandchildren are Tara and Donnie Riley, Lauren and Thomas Hamilton, Stephen and Peggy Forson, Chelsea Corley, Paislea Corley, Brody Herr, Christina and Matt Leach, Dylan and Anna Herr, Kendall and Torey Sides and Jeremy and Danielle Sides; and honorary children are Melody and Keith Walters, Perry Wayne and Lisa Hall, Tony and Luann Forson, Amber Roth and Donald Smith. He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Forson, Dylan Herr, Kendall Sides, Jeremy Sides, Thomas Hamilton and _____. Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons and nephews and ushers are Logan Forson and Josh Fort.
Visitation will begin on Friday, May 10, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Larry's family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Funeral service is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Joe Ballard will officiate. Mr. Herr will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville.
