Funeral services for Katheryne Jeanette Stamps, age 83, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon Friday, January 15, 2016 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. She will be laid to rest in Earle’s Chapel Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mrs. Stamps passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 in Jacksonville. She was born November 2, 1932 in Jacksonville to Emmet and Frances (Dudley) Sanders. Katheryne married James in 1950. They moved back to Jacksonville in 1979. She worked for LaPorte ISD and Bealls. She was a member of many organizations including: Moses M. Buckner United Daughters of the Confederacy #2442, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Cherokee Co. Historical Commission. In Los Cruces, New Mexico, she was a member of the Eastern Star and Federated Junior and Senior Women’s Club. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James C. Stamps. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Lou Davis of Sugarland and Brenda Sue Dobbs of Midlothian; her grandchildren, Lindsey Benton and Jaimie Williams.
