Joyce's Story

Joyce Elizabeth Terrill, 91, of Dallas, Texas passed into eternity after a brief illness on January 19, 2017 at her home. She was born in Jacksonville, Texas on April 28, 1925. She married on July 9, 1950 to Robert Emmett Terrill. They were married 56 years before his death in 2007. They raised five children, all of which admired and loved them.
Joyce was born on the Ragsdale family farm, one of eight children born to John and Hazel Ragsdale and lived there until she moved to attend SMU. She graduated from Lon Morris College and SMU and went on to get a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Texas at Dallas. She was a devoted wife and mother and dearly loved her eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Joyce was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church beginning her membership at Earle's Chapel in Jacksonville.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Van Nort, Donna Terrill, Robert Terrill, Carol Sims, Kristie Sanguinet and her brother, Mason Ragsdale.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
A funeral service is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Earle's Chapel Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville. She will be laid to rest at Earle's Chapel Cemetery.
"For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth; and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God." Job 19:25, 26.
