Joan  McDougle
Joan McDougle was born in Jacksonville Texas on October 5, 1933 to late Dr John and Margaret Phillips McDougle. She was the granddaughter of John H. Bolton, an early pioneer of Jacksonville. Joan died in the late hours of September 21, 2019 at Senior Care Center in Jacksonville.
Joan graduated from Jacksonville High School In 1951. She graduated Lon Morris College in 1953, then Southern Methodist University with an Elementary Education Degree in 1955. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She later received her Masters Degree from East Texas State College, Commerce Texas. She taught in Dallas until retirement, at which time she returned to Jacksonville. She was a very accomplished pianist.
Joan is survived by her sister, Linda McDougle Zehnder of Fredericksburg; nieces, Amy Zehnder Whitsell of Austin and Lee Zehnder Ross of Aberdeen, Scotland. She is also survived by many cousins and special cousin, Julie Bolton Douglas-Smith.
Joan's ashes are to be buried at 2:00 in the afternoon of her birthday, October 5th, at Resthaven Cemetery, Jacksonville.

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. I worked with Joan at Beall's for ten years and she was the sweetest, gentle ladies I've ever known. I have thought of her often over the years. I know she will be missed.
