A graveside service for Jim Anderson, age 68, of Tyler, is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville with Chaplains Eddy Secrest and Ken Summerville officiating. Services are under the direction of Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
Mr. Anderson passed away January 28, 2018 in Tyler.
He was born October 7, 1949 in Houston to James Riley and Marie (Handy) Anderson.
Jim was a contractor and attended Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler. He was known as "Mud" by his grandchildren. He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the Gulf. Jim especially loved time spent with his family.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy Bolton Anderson of Tyler; his mother, Marie Anderson of Baytown; a daughter, Amber Anderson Smith and
husband Tate of Tennessee; a son, Jamie Anderson and wife Laura of Houston; two brothers, Ron Anderson and wife Maggie of Deer Park, and Doug Anderson of Houston; and two sisters, Beverly Smith of Mont Belvieu, and Cindy Anderson of League City. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Bolton, Fox, and Katie-Willis Smith and Jaydon and Jaxon Madoux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Frank Stuart, Pat Marshall, Geoff Marshall, Lance Vincent, Trevor Rogers, Chris Carr, and Tate Smith.
The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving care and support.
