Jerry Ray McCullough 63, born in Houston, Texas to Floyed Ray McCullough and Cordie Lee Lay. Jerry is survived by his dedicated wife Donna McCullough, loving mother Cordie McCullough, brothers Royce (Misty), Brett (J'Ann), children John (Carrie), Amanda (Don), Jerrod (Jennifer), Tiffany, James (Tonya) and Lara. Grandchildren Taylor (Cody), Cayla, Tyler, Paige, Lacy, Maddi, Weston, Wyatt M., Austin, Coby, Wyatt A., Jakob (Kalie), Garth, Isaak, Whitney, Chloe, Layla, Jonah, Matthew, Great-Grandsons Jaxson and Jerry Ray and numerous nieces and nephews
He retired after 30 years of service at Johnson Space Center where he was a Supervisor over all heavy equipment and vehicles. In retirement he owned and operated Jerry's Tractor & Dozer Service for over 10 years.
Jerry lived life to the fullest. He was involved in competitive BBQ teams from Houston, San Antonio, Austin, San Leon and Pasadena. Jerry was a proud member of the Salt Grass Trail Ride for 30 years and loved cooking for the wagon. He spent many good times hunting deer, turkeys, hogs, ducks and doves. Jerry had a great love for fishing and being on the water. Jerry always did for others including being a Cub Master, Scout Leader, and a baseball coach. Jerry always had time to help and encourage his family and friends.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, March 10, 2018 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Jerry's family from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville. A funeral service is scheduled at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan McCullough officiating. He will be laid to rest at Still Waters Memorial Gardens.
