A funeral service for Jeanne Freeland James, age 89, of Jacksonville is scheduled at 2 o'clock in
the afternoon Sunda, December 10, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Pastor David Butler officiating. She will be laid to rest at Jacksonville City Cemetery.
Mrs. James passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 in Lufkin.
Jeanne was born February 25, 1928 in Jacksonville, Texas to Derward and Olga (Teal) Freeland.
She was a member and an organist at People's Church in Jacksonville. She was a secretary, bookkeeper and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert W. James; and a son, Robert Carter James.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Cole Pugh and wife Candy of LaGrange, GA, Rex Pugh and wife Debbie of Lufkin, Mark James and wife Debra of Jacksonville, Tracy Pugh of Jacksonville; daughter, Allison Stephens and husband Danny of Rusk; and a brother, Jack Waters of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by grandchildren Lisa Turner, Chris West, T.J. West, Mandy Pugh, Laura Mahan and husband Lee, Jeanna Pugh, Daniel Pugh, Nikki Ferguson and Tyler James; great-grandchildren, Riley Mahan, Brynlee Mahan, Robert West and Savannah West.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Moore, Jesse Smith, Lee Mahan, T.J. West, Joe Ellis, Daniel Pugh, Lewie Lake, Mark James and honorary pallbearer is Danny Stephens.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, December 9, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with Jeanne's family from 6 to 8 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
