Funeral services for Jean Gould Dark, 83 of Whitehouse, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the chapel of Jackson’s Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler with Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Jean was born in Jacksonville to the late Walter “Hap” and Elizabeth Gould and passed away at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. She will be forever remembered by her friends and family for her wonderful sense of humor and her ability to make anyone around her feel special. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She took such joy in being with those she loved and always gave so selflessly to others. She retired from the Army Air-force Exchange Services in Dallas. Jean was known as “Jennie Weenie” by her loving family and close friends. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmy Dark; son, Randy Dark and wife, Sylvia of Dallas, TX and daughter, Vickie Bailey and her husband, Jerry of Hillsborough, NC; a sister in law, Sylvia Gould of Mt. Selma; four grandchildren, Ryan, Brenton, Brandy, Anna and their spouses; six great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter “Bud” Gould; nephew Wally Gould; and great nephew, Ray Gould and great niece, Rainy Gould.
