Visitation for James “Peewee” Turney, age 63, of Maydelle, is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Turney passed away December 26, 2015 in a Rusk nursing home. He was born May 10, 1952 in Odessa, TX to the late James Edward Turney and Marjorie Eskew. Mr. Turney was a resident of Maydelle for 25 years formerly of Houston. He worked as a heavy equipment operator all his life and was Baptist by faith. He liked to hunt, fish, read western novels and loved anything to do with dirt. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara Mott of Maydelle, daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Robert Allen of Fort Worth, TX, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tammy Mott of Oakland, TX, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, Tawana Arnold and husband Kenneth of Magnolia, TX, Debra King and husband Scott of Frisco, TX, brother, Douglas Davis and wife Fran of Magnolia, Rhonda Turney of Rusk and several nieces and nephews.
