Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 14, 2017, at McDonald Cemetery in New Summerfield, TX for James Ervin Murphy, age 90, of Jacksonville. Bro. Donnie Sadler will be officiating.
James Murphy was born November 12, 1926, in New Emmaus, TX to Willie Ray and Allye Payne Murphy. He was a Mason and previous owner and operator of an automobile body shop. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII as a member of the Garrison Beach Party. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Opal Lee Murphy, two brothers and two sisters.
James is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Rod and Wanda Murphy of Longview and Bryan Murphy of New Summerfield, a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and James Blanton of Gleenfawn, TX, brother-in-law, Billy Hall of New Summerfield, sister-in-law and her husband, Carol and Kenneth Fincher of Pert, sister-in-law, Betty Hall of Jacksonville, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
