Funeral for James Terry Cannon, 60, of Mount Selman, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Autry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clifford Taylor officiating.
Mr. Cannon died Wednesday in Tyler. He was born to Bethel and Jimmy Cannon, July 25, 1956 in Cherokee County and had lived there all of his life. He had been employed by Tyler Wood Works for the past 18 years. He was a member of the Mount Selman Baptist Church.
He took much pride in his work. He was a loving husband, father, brother and most of all "Pop" to the grandchildren whom he dearly loved. He was loved by his family and friends, always putting a smile on their faces.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Gina Cannon; two sons, Josh Cannon and Kristin and Bryan Cannon; daughter, Toya Turner and husband Jerry; sisters, Kay James and Peggy Walley and husband Jimmy; brothers, Mark James and wife Debra, David Cannon and wife Rosemary, Roger Cannon and wife Molly, and Ted Cannon and wife Paula; grandchildren, Brady Sanford, Tristin Turner, Jayden Cannon, Macy Cannon, Katelyn Salacahe and Vinny Solacache; his mother-in-law, Betty Ewalt Taylor; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation with family will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, preceding the service.
