Horace was born December 27, 1949, to Robert and Clora Jones in Jacksonville, and left for glory Friday, April 7, 2017, after a long illness.
Hoss lived in Jacksonville all his life. He was a welder and oilfield worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Lee Jones, and sisters Margaret Hedricks and Jo Ann Looney.
He is survived by his children, the loves of his life, son Jason Jones and Brandi of Rusk, daughter Janna Kirby and husband James of Maydelle; and grandson Hunter Alkire and granddaughters Baileigh and BriLynn Jones and Kirsten and Emily Kirby.
Hoss also is survived by his sisters Cynthia Vinson and Sue Lowery, his brothers Robert and LaVerne Jones, Dean and Judy Jones, and Doyle and Pam Jones. Hoss is survived by many nephews and nieces who loved him dearly.
There will be no visitation. To celebrate his life, there will be a memorial at a later date.
Our heartfelt thanks to Senior Care and Loving Care of Heart to Heart and Chaplin Seacrest for his uplifting of faith.
