Henry's Story

Graveside services for Mr. Henry Lee Driver, age 95, will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Mason Cemetery in Arp, Texas with Rev. Lester Foreman officiating. Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville will be conducting the services. Mr. Henry Lee Driver was born December 29, 1921 in Arp, Texas. He grew up in the Arp area and moved to Jacksonville in 1957 where he has resided until his death on December 21, 2017. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII in the 822nd Tank Destroyer Battalion. He worked as a mechanic for Sadler's Marine for many years and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Mr. Driver was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Leon and Essie Jewel Canaday Driver, his sister, Frances Fitch, two brothers, Fred Driver and Cecil Driver and an infant great-great granddaughter, Ellie Grey Alfaro.
Mr. Henry Lee Driver is survived by his wife of 76 years, Letha Robeta Morrison Driver, a daughter, Janie Elaine Driver of Jacksonville, two sons, Tony and Donald Driver, both of Jacksonville, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.
