Mr. Scallon passed away February 15, 2017 in a Tyler hospital. Those children have borne 22 grandchildren, ages 26 through 8 months old. His children will miss his love of large celebrations and devotion to family, but they will not miss the hours of herding cows and planting corn in the hot East Texas sun. He served in the US Marine Corps as a navigator in an F4 fighter jet. Bo loved farming, the poetry of Donne, baking cinnamon rolls, listening to Mozart, reading the Aeneid, and praying the Divine Chaplet of Mercy. Not only was Bo a pig farmer who could mend a fence and bake a cherry strudel, he would recite Beowulf all the while. Bo was a long-time English teacher whose students will recall his sub-zero classroom, Anglo-Saxon Day, and classical music playing in the background on exam days. He was deeply loved, and will be missed by countless family and friends.
