A funeral service for Glenn J. Taylor, age 89, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Monday, June 5, 2017 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. C.D. Walker and John Mark Hallman officiating. He will be laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery in the Antioch Community near Jacksonville.
Mr. Taylor passed away Tuesday, May 30 2017 in Tyler.
Glenn was born November 16, 1927 in Antioch to Luker and Velma Taylor.
He was the retired owner of Taylor's Laundry in Jacksonville. Glenn was a wonderful, loving family man who enjoyed projects with his sons. He worked with cattle and hay production on Taylor Farms. He was an avid fisherman and a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Taylor; and a sister, Ruth Odom.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 65 years, Janice Taylor of Jacksonville; sons, Mark Taylor and wife Jessica of Rockwall, and Jason Taylor; sisters, Wanda Ward of Jacksonville, Rose Pfaff of Austin, Shirley Hartsfield and husband Dale of Tyler, and Sue Ripple and husband William of Sealy. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Trenton Taylor, Carly Hallman, Ashton Dennard and Shelby Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Arrington, Nick Bruno, Darold Dickerson, Jimmy Going, Weldon Lightsey, Bill Taylor and Bill Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brant Knoff and Bob Johnson.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, June 4, 2017 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
