Gilbert (Gil) Searcy, 79, of Bullard, Texas went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Gil was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on March 28, 1938 to Sherwood and Sarah (Snookie) Searcy, and grew up in Mooringsport, Louisiana. He married Marcy (Elder) Searcy on September 7, 1961. Gil impacted many lives through his service in the church and as a coach in several sports spanning many ages. He served as a deacon in churches in Louisiana and Texas for more than 30 years, and also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War.
