A funeral service for Garry Hunter Davenport, age 66, of Jacksonville, is scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. He will be laid to rest at Bullard Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Davenport passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, in Tyler.
He was born April 29, 1950, in Jacksonville to Jessie Sr. and Minnie (Jenkins) Davenport.
Garry was a carpet layer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Hannah Renee Davenport; brothers, Jimmy and Howard Davenport; sisters, Orene McIntyre and Geraldine Henderson.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Paul Davenport of Gallatin, Bryan Kent Davenport of CA, Lenny Davenport and wife April of Little Rock, Ark., Waylon Hunter Davenport and wife Flor of Rio Grande City, Randall Davenport of Amarillo, Franky Davenport of San Antonio; daughter, Mary Gwen Davenport and Ian Gable of Santa Rosa, CA; brothers, Johnny Lee Davenport and wife Sue of Jacksonville, J.D. Davenport and wife Nita of Mixon, Richard Davenport of Mixon; sisters, Billie Ruth Jones of Rusk, Lila Pearl Cameron of New Summerfield, Christine Davenport of WA, and Darline Morris of Chandler. There are 18 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lenny Davenport, Waylon Davenport, Randall Davenport, Franky Davenport, Joseph Davenport and Gary Davenport.
Visitation will begin on Friday, June 3, 2016, and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o'clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
