Floyd Scott Beranek, 62, died July 7, 2016, at his home in Jacksonville of a sudden illness.
He was born March 15, 1954, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Floyd "Bill" and Beverly McKnight Beranek.
He was the owner of Scott's Jewelry store in Jacksonville.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Dr. Bill Beranek.
He is survived by his mother Beverly Beranek, brother Dan Rayburn Beranek, sisters Kathleen Beranek and Dawn Beranek Bauer and husband Bart. Also surviving are his niece and nephews, Brianna, Brayden and Brantley Bauer. All are residents of Jacksonville.
Scott was a graduate of Permian H.S. in Odessa and attended Odessa Jr. College and Schreiner College in Kerrville, TX. He was uniquely talented in jewelry design and wood carving. He deeply loved the Lord, our country, his family and friends and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Visitation will be held at Autry Funeral Home Jacksonville from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016
A graveside service will be conducted at Jarratt cemetery in Jacksonville, Sunday, July 10, 2016 at 4 p.m., with Rev. Doug Wintermute officiating.
