Funeral Service or scheduled Thursday, June 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church Bullard at 1 p.m. for Evelyn Joan "Mimi" Boothe of Bullard with pastors Kris Shustella and Zach Snow officiating.
Mrs. Boothe peacefully passed into the arms of Our Savior in Tyler, Texas on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at 9:25 a.m. at 81 years of age.
Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alvin Dale Boothe; two sons, Michael Dale Boothe and wife Brenda, and Mickey Boothe and wife Cathy, of Bullard; one daughter, Pamela Boothe Vest and husband Glen Vest, of Brownsboro; one brother, James Spivey and wife Cleta from Jacksonville, Texas; five grandchildren- Kristopher Dale Shustella and wife Andrea from Bullard, James Zachary Snow and wife Susan from Royse City, Texas, Summer Nicole Dorsey from Bullard, Michael Boothe and wife Beth, from Bullard, and Amanda Pruitt from Tyler, Texas. She was also a proud "Mimi" to 7 beautiful great grandchildren; Jacob, Kaleb, Eli, Noah, Jaxson, Brady and Mercy Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Evelyn Spivey of Jacksonville, Texas, and two sisters, Dorothy Lassiter and Delores Linville,
both from Jacksonville.
Joan was born on November 3, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas to Delbert and Evelyn Spivey. She married Dale Boothe on February 19, 1954.
Joan was a faithful and loving member at First Baptist Church in Bullard where she spent many years teaching Sunday school and lovingly mentoring young ladies in her classes. She had a deep and abiding love for her Lord Jesus Christ and shared that love by word and deed every single day of her life and with everyone she came into contact with. Mimi was also known far and wide for her HUGS.
Joan was a guiding light in the spiritual growth of not only her children, but also her grandchildren. She was so very proud of each and everyone of them.
We would like to take this time to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of East Texas for the love and compassion that "Mimi" and her family received while she was in their care. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, Texas 75701.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church Bullard at 9 to 11 a.m.
Private burial will follow at Bullard Memorial Cemetery.
